Save time and reduce AML/CTF duplication with a Reliance Agreement
From 1 July 2026, real estate agents and others will have new AML/CTF obligations. This may mean extra checks for your clients and your agency. For more information directly from AUSTRAC, please see https://www.austrac.gov.au/industry-and-business
eConveyancing NSW can now work with agencies under a Reliance Agreement to help make this process more efficient, secure and client-friendly.
How a Reliance Agreement helps agents
A Reliance Agreement can help:
- reduce duplicated and annoying AML/CTF requests to the same client
- keep matters moving with an efficient process in place
- improve communication and reduce back-and-forth
- enable secure sharing of relevant AML/CTF information
- increase the likelihood of an improved client experience

How it works (step-by-step)
Step 1 — Set up your agency
Email hello@eConveyancingNSW.com.au with a request to set up a reliance agreement:
- your agency’s full business name, address & ABN/ACN
- principal/licensee name
- your AML/CTF contact person
- email address for AML/CTF communications
- phone number for AML/CTF communications
Step 2 — Sign the Reliance Agreement
We will send you a Reliance Agreement for signing electronically, setting out how AML/CTF information may be securely shared between the parties.
Step 3 — Introduce your client to us
Please email introductions to: hello@eConveyancingNSW.com.au
- For a seller: introduce the client at your agency appointment
- For a buyer: introduce the client once the contract is ready and/or signed.
Step 4 — We onboard the client and complete AML/CTF checks
Once eConveyancing NSW is formally engaged to act in the conveyancing matter, we will complete the required customer due diligence checks, including:
- ID verification, risk assessment and the various AML/CTF checks
Step 5 — Secure sharing (where permitted)
Where:
- a current Reliance Agreement is in place; and
- eConveyancing NSW has been engaged to act for the client in the relevant conveyance; and
- the relevant AML/CTF checks have been completed
eConveyancing NSW can securely share the relevant AML/CTF compliance information under the Reliance Agreement. eConveyancing NSW will only share AML compliance checks under a Reliance Agreement once engaged to act in the conveyance.
Step 6 — We manage the conveyance through to settlement
Once a fully executed Contract is received, eConveyancing NSW will manage the matter through to settlement.
